The development of this modular 'brick' was driven by the desire to create variable porosity, transparency, and lightness while understanding the limitations of fired clay with regards to flexibility and tensile strength.

The 'bricks' produced allowed us to experiment with combinations that display multiple denisities and appearances while maintaining a certain material economy by using a built in void as a major space-defining device.
